Design Engineer/ Project Engineer
Main Job Purpose:
To work amongst a small dedicated team of Engineers, providing engineering support for the Woodall-Nicholson Group. Generating accurate records of new designs and modifications, trouble shooting and project managing within defined timescales working within Type Approval for projects on cars and buses.
Essential
• Experience in working within a high quality, low volume specialist automotive manufacturer.
• Working knowledge of 2D Autocad and 3D Inventor, or similar.
• Familiar with drawing systems and standards.
• Mechanical design experience.
• Microsoft Word, Excel and Project.
• A team player who has the confidence to work on their own initiative.
• Ability to communicate at all levels.
• Experience in project management and capable of multi-tasking.
• Good solid general automotive knowledge.
• Knowledge of Type Approval for cars and buses.
• Ad-hoc duties as requested.
• Producing Bill of Labour & Bill of Material
• FEA experience
Desirable
• Electrical design experience.
• Capable of producing accurate, detailed axle load calculations and weight calculations.
• Organisation skills and planning.
• Technical troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of type approval – cars and buses.
Qualifications:
• HNC
• Degree
• Computer literate with Word, Excel, E-mail etc.
Personal Qualities:
• Strong Leadership Skills.
• Effective communicator at all levels.
• A team player.
